Austinites who chose to sleep in Saturday rather than make the 10 a.m. bugle call for tickets to David Byrne's much anticipated performance at the Paramount Theatre in September are out of luck. I logged in a little after 10:20 a.m. Saturday and saw that all tickets were sold out. Some folks (myself included) were able to get presale access by signing up as a friend of the theatre, which required a donation of about $100 or more ... If you were subscribed to my Twitter feed you got the heads up early, and hopefully got tickets.
Tickets are popping up on eBay and Craigslist, but expect to pay around $200 or more each. I expect this price to rise as the date approaches. Byrne's new album, Big Love: Hymnal, debuts tomorrow.
