Google announced today that they're rolling out IMAP support for Gmail users. IMAP allows you to sync your mailbox automatically between devices. For example, if you use your iPhone to assign a different label to a message, that change will be reflected when you view your account from your desktop computer.
I haven't yet configured Gmail's IMAP for my iPod Touch, but it's a safe guess the same method used for the iPhone will work for the Touch:

It does not work for the iPod Touch. even when it is jailbroken.
in my ipod Touch it worked
perfectly.
Thanks
genovs, you are wrong and so is the author. There is no native e-mail support on the iPod Touch.
If your iPod Touch is jailbroken or has the new 1.1.3 update and applications, you can configure your Gmail IMAP folders with the instructions at iPod Touch and Gmail IMAP folders
Ipod touch w/ 1.1.3 and new apps refuses to work.. Keep getting an invalid credentials...even though I can log in on the computer using same credentials...
I have a feeling the I Touch is not properly entering my password...wish it would show the password instead of hiding...it also shows everything as capitol lettes...and I need to be sure they are not caps...
Very frustrating...I have followed every method I can find on the web, but no luck!
That's Awesome. Thanks man. It works great. I have an ipod touch and it works just as well.
